Wallace Wade Stadium Expansion

Expanded Wallace Wade Stadium
Wallace Wade Stadium is the home of the Duke Blue Devils' Football team.  I became interested in this old school horseshoe after playing some NCAA 09 Dynasty Mode as Duke's coach and also after visiting Durham, and the stadium in 09'.  I should note I am an avid Husker at heart, but I like designing and creating things, and Duke's old bowl was the perfect blank template for my imagination.  Besides, Nebraska is already working on this

Anyway, this is a rough rendering of my idea for Wallace Wade Stadium.
Also note that I designed this in Google SketchUp.

 Phase 1:

A second level of seats with sky-boxes would be added to the east side of the stadium.  The exterior of the stadium would probably be brick or marble, I think some-type of arch facade would be really neat (think coliseum).  East stadium would be targeted for expansion first, because west stadium is where the press box and sky-boxes are currently located.  The new sky-boxes in east stadium would temporarily house the press box while west stadium is later being renovated under phase 2.

 Phase 2:

This would include a second level of seats, sky-boxes, and a new press box for west stadium.  West stadium is, and would continue to be, the main entrance to the stadium.  The new sky-box structure would be twice as large as east stadium.

Phase 3:

Phase 3 would include completing the upper bowl on the north side of the stadium.  I would also have suites wrap around the stadium on the north side at the same height as the suites on the east side of the stadium.  The arch facade on the outside would be completed.  I put a larger arch at the middle of the horseshoe like other stadiums.  Duke could put a statue in front of it like in Lincoln.  It creates a main north entrance.

Phase 4:

Phase 4 would be the final phase.  The track would be removed, the field would be lowered and the lower bowl would expand right down to the field.  The smaller the sidelines the better.  On the south side, a new indoor practice facility/athletic complex would be built with two levels of seats to close off the horseshoe.  The concourses would connect so the stadium would feature a wrap-around concourse.

I created the model in a program called 'Google Sketchup'.  If you install the program, you can download this model in the below link to really understand the concept:
